[International i Journal = Reporter Ju Jong-hwan and Kim Kun from Gyeongsangbuk-do] The 2018 International Seonbi Humanities Forum was held at Yeongju, the town of Seonbi.

On the 4th, the '2018 International Sebi Humanities Forum' sponsored by Dongyang University Seonbi Research Institute was held at the Yeongju Cultural Arts Center and Dongyang University with participation of many Yeongju citizens such as Vice Mayor of Yeongju City, members of Yeongju City Council, and President of Tongyang University.

The forum was planned to spread the atmosphere of the practical movement of the Seonbi spirit by enhancing the brand value of Yeongju City through the creative convergence of traditional Seonbi culture and contemporary humanities and comparing the Seonbi spirit with the other spirits in the world.

At this forum, each professor gave lectures and had discussions on the frontier and Puritanism spirits of the United States, the noble man spirit of China, the samurai spirit of Japan, and the Seonbi spirit of Korea.

In particular, this forum was held in conjunction with the Yeongju Seonbi Cultural Festival (May 4 ~ May 7), thus creating a bigger synergy effect.

The Yeongju Sunbi Cultural Festival contributed to revitalizing the local economy by raising the brand image of the city and attracting tourists by holding the Seonbi Cultural Festival, the identity of Yeongju City.

"It is meaningful that this event was planned as an opening ceremony in conjunction with the “2018 Yeongju Korean Seonbi Cultural Festival” said Choi Sung Hae, President of Dongyang University who hosted this forum at the opening address. He added, “I wish this Yeongju Seonbi Cultural Festival could be developed further to become a more economical event."
